Introduction:
DHS
Hurricane 3 Provincial Grade Orange Sponge. This is the #1 rubber used by
Chinese Provincial players for Chinese Style forward motion loops. This rubber is
often used by players exclusively only on the forehand side, although some
players use it for both sides.

Glue/Blade/Rubber/Cleaner:
Glue:
This
rubber works best when tuned and glued with Haifu
Blue Whale II Speed Glue.
Blade:
Hurricane
3 Provincial works well with both composite blades and wood blades. Mostly paired
with Stiga Clipper Wood in Asia for training / semi-professional competition.
Rubber:
A
great rubber that compliments this rubber on the backhand side is: Butterfly
Tenergy 05 FX 2.1mm or Butterfly Bryce Speed. Essentially any European/Japanese
Sponge rubber without tackiness is preferred on the Backhand when the player
uses Hurricane 3 on the Forehand.
Cleaner: Use a oil-based cleaner such as REACH
Rubber Cleaner
Hardness/Thickness
Available:
H3 Provincial comes in 39, 40, 41 Hardness. The higher the number, the harder the
sponge. The harder the sponge, the more potential energy available to be exerted
through the stroke. However, the harder the sponge, the more energy will be
required from the player to extract the potential energy from the sponge. Most
professional players use 40 or 41 Hardness. 39 Hardness has slightly lower throw
than 40 and 41 Hardness. Thickness only comes in 2.20mm. If you're unsure where
to start, I recommend using the 40 Hardness first.

Review:
I've been a huge advocate of H3 Provincial for about 5 years. Love how it plays
and always frustrated when people say that H3 wasn't a good rubber and then
later finding out that they only used Commercial grade. What's the
difference between Commercial, Provincial, and National? I think H3 Commercial
is a waste of hard earned money. Provincial offer's a world of a difference in
speed/control/spin/tackiness in comparison to Commercial. National offers higher
quality at a lighter weight compared to Provincial. What's the difference
between NEO and non-NEO? NEO is DHS's solution to the speed glue ban in 2008.
Technically, speed glue is illegal to use, but with
Haifu
Blue Whale II Speed Glue,
the illegal vapors evaporate within 2 days and will pass any high level
tournament using the ENEZ test. It does not have the speed glue effect that
lasts during the initial 4 hours after gluing, but very few people play with
that extremely fast speed glue effect. NEO rubbers use VOC-Free Water Based
Glue. Non-NEO requires speed glue for the initial tuning of the rubber.
